The final classes before the summer holidays were held in the Book Museum at the exhibition "The Peoples of the World and Their Primers" in May. They took place within the framework of the project "Book Professors’ Club".

The children have heard the history of the first "Bukvar" which had been published by our ancestors 400 years ago.

In the museum, the young professors could see a part from the greatest literature collection in the world: books from the unique private collection by Juris Cibuļs, the Latvian teacher and collector. Each ABC-book is a miniature encyclopedia containing knowledge of the history and culture of the people. They differ in language, graphics, form, artistic design, composition and teaching methods.

The children were able to look through the Belarusian textbooks for reading of the beginning of the 20th century, printed in Belarusian with Cyrillic and Latin fonts.

The young professors have also expressed on "What is more useful: book, computer or TV-set?". There were different opinion, but the book has won!

In addition, each participant became a graphic artist for a while and created his own bright and cheerful letter for Bukvar.

At the end of the school year, boys and girls were awarded diplomas for participating in the "Book Professors’ Club" classes and significant progress in studying the Belarusian book culture.

We present the updated virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region": on the 205th anniversary of the composer's birth

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.

On April 25, the National Library of Belarus hosted the opening of the exhibition "Dreams about Belarus", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders and the 85th anniversary of the birth of People's Artist of Belarus Vasily Sharangovich.
